I just bought the food grade non toxic shellac from Rust-Oleum. Paint whatever color you want and then put the clear sealing shellac over it so it's food safe. I bought it at Lowe's hardware,,it's also available at Home Depot or you can order it from Amazon. Walmart also carries it . It is usually $4 to $7 depending on where you buy it.
