The Frye Museum has an amazing collection that is hung “salon style.” Their salon is filled with artwork hung floor to ceiling with very little space between the frames. It is a visual delight. The monographic exhibit of works by Franz von Stuck at the Frye Museum showing through February 2 is a stunning accomplishment and well timed. 2013 marked the 150th birthday of the painter and the 120th anniversary of his American debut at the Columbian Exhibition, where he received a gold medal and the attention of Charles and Emma Frye, whose collection served as the basis for the Frye.
